General Summary
The senior RF antenna design engineer leads the development of a variety of microwave antenna types for mobile and wireless applications such as handsets, USB dongles, laptops, access points, and more. The position involves bringing development concepts to design release, leading a multi-disciplinary development team, guiding technical direction, and interfacing with customers.
Functions / Responsibilities
* Design and develop small embedded antennas for wireless devices
* Lead a small multi-disciplinary engineering team to bring development concepts to the mass production phase
* Understand customer specifications and how to relate them to design parameters
* Iterate concepts to meet RF performance requirements for return loss, gain, efficiency. Design iterations must also take into account available manufacturing techniques.
* Perform manufacturing tolerance sensitivities studies
* Demonstrate commitment to a philosophy of continuous improvement including practices such as fact-based decision making, problem-solving methods, and total employee involvement
Requirements
Education: minimum MSEE (or equivalent) with five years of relevant experience
Major(s): Electrical Engineering, Physics - Applied, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Physics
Experience:
* Proven experience designing small, cost competitive embedded antennas multi-frequency antennas, broadband antennas, MIMO antenna systems, and communication antennas for a wide variety of applications is required
* Skills with electromagnetic simulation tools, such as Agilent or Ansoft HFSS is required.
* Skills with antenna design tools and antenna testing techniques is required.
* The ability to work well with customers and multi-disciplined teams is required.
* Must be able to effectively communicate with engineering, project management, and customers.
* Must have strong *bench* prototyping skills.
* Must have experience with a network analyzer.
* Must have strong background in RF theory.
