Job Responsibility :
1. Responsible for Tier1 (inc. NOC) operations at appropriately assigned Data Center for assigned shift
2. Responsible for ensuring all backup tapes & offsite storage Policies & Procedures are followed for assigned Data Center & shift
3. Responsible for ensuring appropriate actions are taken when a monitoring alert is raised
4. Responsible for following all Policies & Procedures impacting Tier1 (NOC) operations
5. Responsible for ensuring all scheduled tasks & daily work processes are completed. Responsible for a clear & concise shift turnover to the next shift maintaining the shift turnover, for flagging issues needing immediate attention by oncoming shift
6. Follow up incidents, problems occurring until final resolution & root cause are determined/resolved. Escalate to appropriate supervisor/manager
7.Assist to interview, recommend applications for Tier1 positions. Train new/current staff
8. Assist assigned supervisor to ensure operations are successful for the Tier 1 team
Requirements :
* 1 year IT professional experience in a production Data Center working in an operations and/or systems support, or equivalent role.
* 1 year of IT Tier1 experience.
* HP servers along with file, print, terminal server and peripherals * 1st level support
* LAN, WAN, DNS, Firewall * 1st level support
* Knowledge of SQL and ORACLE Database * 1st level support
* Knowledge of Remedy and/or other ticketing tracking systems.
* Knowledge of SCOM and/or other enterprise monitoring system.
Note:
This position is a Night Shift. Rotating - 3 days on/4 days off - then 4 days on/3 days off following week, etc.
Optional :
* Previous Data Center experience.
* Microsoft Certifications (Windows 2000, 2003, etc.)
