BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
*
Support the infrastructure for four large scale application development environments and teams that are the core of The Deloitte Audit technology program.
*
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish procedures and policies for branching and merging, versioning and version control management.*
- Establish procedures and policies for the release mechanism (builds, packaging, and installation).*
- Recommend and implement process changes to improve our software configuration management (SCM) environment.*
- Works with SCM manager and Development team to gather configuration metadata for each project release. Maintain and document configuration settings for all environments.
- Perform software installation to development environments and assist the operations team with installation and troubleshooting on pre-production and production environments.*
- Maintain common software build and integration environments.
- Works with developers and application administrators to develop an effective SCM process for each specific application.
- Create, update, and support build scripts for all releases.
- Identify, evaluate & implement SCM tools.*
- Manage the source code repository*for all products and ensure proper versioning, archiving and merging of source code.
- Integrate automated test tools into the build environment.
- Provide reporting on key efficiency and effectiveness metrics of the SCM process.
- Work within formal software development processes.
- Coordinate various SCM tasks with Development, Infrastructure, QA and Operations teams.
- Works on complex-intermediate level projects.
- 5+ years in Software Configuration Management experience preferably in large scale enterprise projects.* Software Development experience in Java and Microsoft .Net a plus.*
- Solid hands-on experience with source control tools (especially Visual Source Safe and Subversion), build control tools (such as Ant, NAnt, CruiseControl, and Maven), and defect tracking systems (such as Mercury Test Director).
- Experience integrating automated test tools such as JUnit and NUnit into the SCM process.
- Source code management skills including tagging, branching and merging for mid to large size projects.
- Strong experience with formal software development processes.
- Strong system analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex secure environments.
- Windows system administration and script development skills.
- Java application server and web server administration skills (especially with WebSphere).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with the following tools:* Visual Source Safe, Team Foundation Server, Subversion, NANT, MAVEN, CruiseControl, Continuum, *Junit, Nunit.
- Prefer experience with the following applications:* Windows Server 2003, IIS, Apache, WebLogic, Vignette Portal, Vignette Content Management, Verity, eRoom, SQL Server, Sharepoint, Active Directory, MIIS, scripting.
- Experience with Java & .NET programming languages desirable.
