This position will be the driving force behind the Cisco growth strategy and be responsible for developing the go-to-market initiative and execute on that initiative with regional Sales.
From a business development perspective, the individual works with Consulting Sales Managers, Service Managers, Cisco SEs, and others, to qualify, and close, sales opportunities with our clients. To accomplish this, the Unified Communications Architect must understand a client’s overall business and apply technical concepts effectively to help them achieve their goals.
As a key technical resource for the Sales and Services Team, the Unified Communications Architect must have hands-on experience with one or more Cisco products. In addition, the individual must be an authority on project methodology and Cisco best practices.
The Unified Communications Architect combines excellent technical and professional skills to lead and deliver large and complex projects successfully. This individual develops technical strategies and architectures for new services, participates in sales presentations, and identifies additional product/services opportunities in the customer’s organization. As such the Unified Communications Architect is viewed by customers and peers as a technology thought leader in Cisco technologies. The individual is familiar in the use of project management tools and can effectively estimate projects and monitor their status. He\She can identify risk and assess a project’s status/condition through remote inquiries and discussions with on-site managers. This may require the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
The Unified Communications Architect receives assignments in the form of objectives and defines goals and activities required to meet those objectives. As such, the Unified Communications Architect's work is reviewed and measured based on the individual’s ability to execute those objectives.
