PRA International has an excellent opportunity for a Systems Administrator - Data Warehousing. In this role you will install, maintain, develop, and support the components of PRA's data warehousing infrastructure.
PRA's data warehousing platform is built on top of Oracle, Informatica, and Siebel Analytics/Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise (OBIEE). The Systems Administrator for this system will ensure a high level of application availability, maintain and improve existing data warehouse components and subject areas, provide technical support to other IT staff and developers, and implement additional functionality as needed.
Accountabilities
* Installs, configures, maintains, and monitors the data warehouse components
* Works with stakeholders and business users to deliver to reporting solutions.
* Ability to translate business needs into data requirements
* Participates in technical development (ETL, database modeling, database development, dashboard development, etc.)
* Develops, tests, and implements new functionality, patches, and upgrades.
* Contributes to improvements in the technical architecture, design, and use of the data warehouse.
* Instructs and assists users and developers with correct system usage
* Troubleshoots and resolves system issues
* Maintains System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related documentation as required by SOPs.
Qualifications
* BSc in Computer Science, or related area; or equivalent professional experience including application-specific employment related experience is required
* Relational database experience is required (2 years minimum): Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g is used for enterprise applications; Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is used for service-specific applications.
* Formal application-specific training is required in one or more data warehousing technologies (2 years minimum):
o ETL - Informatica (preferred), Oracle Data Integrator, or comparable
o Presentation * Siebel Analytics/OBIEE (preferred), Business Objects, Cognos, Crystal Reports, or comparable.
* 3rd generation programming language skills (2 years minimum): PL/SQL, T-SQL, VB.NET, C#.NET, Java, JavaScript, etc.
* Possesses strong problem solving and analytical skills is required
* Reads, writes and speaks fluent English; fluent in host country language
