Systems Engineer - Contract 14 months

Knowledge and experience with setting up, tuning and installing some/all of the following: NT, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX. Tuning of the operating systems for Performance and troubleshooting operating system configurations.

This position provides assistance with desktop computers, thin clients, applications, and related technology. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. Candidate must be a self-starter, customer service oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.

Specific Job Related Duties:
1. Assists staff with the installation, configuration of desktops, laptops, MACs, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
2. Troubleshoot basic printer trouble calls and coordinates with vendor to perform repairs.
3. Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with multiple systems including filers, Citrix, Email, Application servers, and any additional systems.
4. Assist with possible backup/format/image process
5. All other duties as required

Education/Experience:
Associate's Degree and 2 years IT experience in an Academic/Health Institution
MCSE, A + certification a plus
Length of Assignment: up to 14 months
