Job Description
The Senior Network Administrator responsibilities include the day-to-day management of all LAN/WAN applications and systems for the company. Provides support for all LAN/WAN based applications to customers and other areas of the IS department as well as technical training OTJ training of the system administrative staff. Ability to pass on information to other system administrators to increase the teams overall knowledge base is required. The position requires expertise, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a timely manner as set forth by the business needs of the company. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Education and Experience: Four year degree in a technical field is required along with a completed MCSE certification, plus other high-level technical certifications (or equivalent experience). Ten years experience in the Information Technology field performing increasingly complex tasks. A minimum of 7 years of experience performing Senior Network Administrator duties and implementing new IS directives is required. Ability to complete projects on time including the necessary documentation is a must. Job Requirements .ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Network Administrator role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The position requires experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a timely manner as set forth by the business needs of the company. Must have the ability to design solutions depending on the needs of the customer and business. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to lead projects as a hand on technical lead. Time Management skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve high level technical issues involving multiple systems and networks; Coaching of other Administrators as needed. Must understand SMTP, TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, HTTP, FTP, and other technologies as required. Expert in Windows and Unix based operating systems in an Enterprise environment. Able to design, implement, and maintain a large numbers of systems, software, and services based on the Enterprise needs. Complete grasp of how technologies interact in a data center environment. Must be able to design, implement, and maintain a solution to meet the needs of the Company. Strong troubleshooting skills are required. Must be able to determine cause and formulate an acceptable solution. Able to resolve issues in all aspects of the network group including networking, application, telecommunications, security, and monitoring. Travel based on company needs for extended periods of time Flexibility to learn new technologies determined by business needs Documentation of all processes Documentation of systems Ability to plan and execute implementations of new applications and systems Able to work well with all areas of Information Systems department Promotes teamwork and cooperation. |
