Job Description
- Health Physicist
- Chalk River, ON
A leading -edge nuclear technology and services company needs 3 Health Physicists at their office in an outdoorsy, small town environment in the Ontario, Canada area.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement RP controls, processes and procedures
- Preparation, review and/or approval of radiological work plans/procedures and radioisotope laboratory protocol
- ALARA assessment, reviews and post-work ALARA reviews
- Technical health physics services for instrumentation, filter testing and decommissioning
- Review and approval of selection and procurement of radiation and contamination measuring and monitoring equipment
Requirements
- 3+ years developing and implementing operational health physics services for assigned facilities and projects
- BS in Health Physics or Engineering with relevant Health Physics experience
- Knowledge of recommendations and guidelines of radiological protection standards, philosophies, procedures, equipment and techniques used in theory and practice
- Solid knowledge of CFR/NRC regulations, and other relevant codes and standards used in decommisioning of nuclear and/or non-nuclear facilities
- Ability to supervise a small work team, and or technical staff
- Must have or be able to obtain Secret Security clearance
