Technical Program Manager, Delivery Customer Experience

The Technical Program Manager for Delivery Customer Experience is responsible for working cross-functionally to dramatically improve the delivery experience for our customers. If you are passionate about getting online purchases with fast free shipping, can run cross-team projects that deliver cutting edge software and services, and are equally comfortable digging in to business requirements as drilling into technical architecture then this is the role for you.
Responsibilities include working with product management to define strategy and requirements, identifying and securing commitment from teams across the company for new initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach, and leading cross-functional development teams from design through delivery. You'll need to be a strong project manager as well as an excellent communicator -- whether working with developers or providing updates to business leadership.
The ideal candidate is a creative technical leader with a knack for problem-solving and getting things done. At the core of the position is delivery. Qualified candidates have experience defining projects and programs, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, driving agreement across stakeholders, and coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets.
Job qualifications:
- Project management prowess, preferably with experience in agile development. The TPM should anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
- Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and development in a highly scalable on-line context. A degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in the face of changing priorities but with a constant focus on what's right for our customers
- Influence and negotiation: work across organizations to get things done
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both with software developers and business executives
