Senior Software Engineer - Java
As our Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Design, develop and implement large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed systems and services
- Develop and maintain enterprise applications in Java on Linux
- Write design specifications, programming specifications, and documentation
- Serve as a resource to Software Engineers in the full development cycle, from conception, design, implementation, and testing to delivery and maintenance
- Accomplish aggressive goals and meet strict deadlines
- Remain current on technical and professional developments affecting area of responsibility
- Assist in the growth and management of technical team members with regard to current technology trends
- Be an active participant in an Agile (SCRUM) environment
- Be responsible for the business intelligence needs of the no 1 shopping comparison search engine
Your qualifications include:
- 6 years Engineering experience
- 3 years of experience in object oriented software engineering (OOAD, OOP)
- 3 years of hands-on Java/J2EE Development
- Experience with large scale data systems (RDBMS, Data Warehousing a plus)
- Strong object oriented software architecture skills (UML a plus)
- Experience with Web services architectures (SOAP, REST), Messaging (JMS, ESB) a plus
- Hands-on design, architecture and implementation experience with J2EE technologies, in particular JMS, JMX, JPA, Spring, Maven, svn, git
- Experience with Perl or Python is a bonus
- Strong experience in all aspects of the development of dynamic and distributed application
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem isolation skills with a can-do, pro-active attitude
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new concepts, technologies and processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical team members
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/professional experience required
