Our client company is a SaaS corporation looking for a Senior Applications Engineer.
The successful candidate will be a very experienced level UNIX/Linux Application engineer with Red Hat Certification. The candidate will be assigned to design and support high-availability 24/7 production systems of high complexity and risk. Will perform ongoing application support for production/live systems by diagnosing and resolving issues, configuring, patching and installing custom developed and 3rd party package applications and upgrades, evaluating and recommending options for improving performance, maintainability and operability. Will work with other senior technical staff and management teams in giving architecture technical solutions as needed and both participate and lead project teams.
Requirements:
BS degree or equivalent in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field is preferred with 4-6 years of directly related work experience.
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) preferred
Demonstrated, experienced systems administration with Linux, Solaris, or other UNIX Operating systems required. Microsoft Windows Operating system administration best practice preferred.
Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in a data-modeling; database administration; software architecture engineering and methodology.
Expertise in Unix shells, PERL and Java script. Demonstrated understanding of software life-cycle process.
Knowledge of Internet technologies (e.g. Linux HTML, XML, TCP/IP) required.
Strong working knowledge of networking and data communication technology.
Knowledge of relational database technologies (SQL, schema design) preferred.
Exposure to working with third party vendors and development team to understand scope of application system changes and revisions.
Knowledge and experience in the administration and operations of large scale distributed computing environments. Experience with standard system Operations methods and procedures. Prior hosting experience a plus.
