The Sr. Web Developer is primarily responsible for contributing to the overall ability of The Vitamin Shoppe*s web systems to meet current and future business goals. The Sr. Web Developer will be involved in the full lifecyle of e-Commerce software development - analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment -of e-Commerce applications using Java based technologies spanning the following business areas:

1. e-Commerce and Marketing.
2. Enterprise middleware, Systems Integrations, and Reporting.
3. Merchandising, Purchase Order management, Inventory Management, Order Management System
4. Sales Auditing and Tax Processing.

Essential Functions:
1. Develop key Java/ATG modules for The Vitamin Shoppe's e-Commerce development initiatives. Might include integration work with other systems, both internal and external..
2. Perform analysis and communicate with business to determine how to deliver solutions that address business needs while maximally leverage out-of-the-box functionality offered by ATG eCommerce framework. Analyze business requests to determine feasibility, scope, timeline, cost, and alternatives.
3. Deliver quality development solutions that result in very few post-project bug counts.
4. Perform troubleshooting and investigation of business, data or technical issues as they might arise.
5. Provide accurate project/task time duration estimates and statuses to team and project management.
6. Develop adequate documentation for other programmers as a part of development lifecycle.
7. Participate in growing of team*s knowledge base by sharing his/her findings, research, and accomplishments with the rest of the team.
8. Help advance team*s software development methodology by actively participating in retrospective meetings, working with other developers and shared resources (release engineers, QA staff), specifying / discussing technical design approaches, and seeking/participating in peer design and code reviews.
9. Evaluate new technologies that could advance business goals.
10. Foster a can-do attitude to all business user interactions.
11. Provide technical leadership in the defining and implementing of architectural changes necessary to address expanding product requirements and maintenance concerns.
12. Help oversee technical work of junior web developers and coordinate the release schedule with business owners and Manager of Direct Applications.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job doesn*t have direct supervisory responsibilities. However, mentoring junior developers and taking leadership of projects and task will be encouraged.

Essential Qualification:
Skills Required:
* 5+ years of hands on experience with Java/J2EE development.
* Knowledge of WebServices, SOAP, XML
* Hands on experience with JSP/JSTL/HTML
* AJAX & Javascript experience preferred
* In-depth understanding of database concepts and principles. PL/SQL experience preferred.
* In-depth comprehension of OOA/OOD
* Experience with ATG Web Commerce v7.X and later (DPS, DSS, DCS, CA, and Merchandising) with Oracle 10g
* Experience with version control systems (e.g. Subversion, GIT, etc.)
* Experience with bug / issue tracking systems (Jira).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent organization and time-management abilities
* Good understanding of basic project management principles
* Has to be a self starter who is comfortable becoming the go-to person
* Can work with minimum supervision and be a valuable contributor in an interactive team environment
* Must demonstrate creative problem solving, self-motivation, proactive attitude, initiative, and flexibility

Skills Desirable:
* SCRUM/Agile software development experience
* Ability to set up and run a continuous integration environment.
* Test Driven Development (TDD) experience
* Java 2 Certification.
* Experience performing code reviews and mentoring junior team members.
