Materials Engineer, or Materials Scientist to join our team!

To qualify for this technically challenging position you must possess a PhD in Materials Engineering, or Materials Science and a minimum of 3 years experience that includes familiarity with Engineered Polymer Materials.

Successful candidate must have developed strong analytical skills and a knack for innovative solutions to technically challenging problems and a familiarity with Engineered Polymer Materials.

We are working with various clients on applications advanced technology for a broad range of applications that include Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC), Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC), High performance polymers, Multi-Functional Materials (nano-materials used to modify properties and characteristics of a base material), polymer alloying and polymer adhesion. These applications will include functionally graded coatings, structural coatings, near-net-shape, foams, protective coatings, high temperature coatings, etc. The successful candidate should be cognizant of material property characterization requirements and procedures. Areas of technical responsibilities will include material selection, material strength characterization, coating process development and coating composition optimization.

The coating application markets will include industrial, aerospace, and military. The successful candidate will work closely with coating developers and be knowledgeable of customer requirements for new applications.

In this role, you will take responsibility for assigned projects from inception through completion. You will research, develop, and apply advanced materials engineering theories, developing methods and theories in the solution of complex and advanced technical problems.

The work scope encompasses the development of product design configurations and/or individual components and the performance data associated with such developments. A solid working knowledge of the first principals of materials engineering is essential. Excellent analytical skills with a practical bent on applied research and development projects will be utilized in this position.


Requirements:

* PhD in Materials Science or Engineering (ABET Accredited)

* Minimum 3 years experience

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Must be authorized to work in the United States

* Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding, and exciting technology environment
