Develop and improve product firmware in C/C++ and assembly language for microcontrollers and VHDL for FPGAs and CPLDs. Assist in the development of digital control modules for RF communications products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop embedded control algorithms, architecture and code. Implement microcontroller-based DSP firmware for embedded RF communication products. Integral involvement in all phases of hardware and firmware development, including digital control module design, architecture, coding, simulation (FPGA/CPLD only), module testing, system testing, and production support. Design using VHDL, C/C++, and assembly language for embedded applications. Test firmware compliance to requirements, functionality and performance using Pole/Zero hardware and commercial equipment such as in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers and other test equipment. Full product development cycle (architecture, design, test, integration & support) of embedded control circuitry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
DSP coding experience is required. Ability to appropriately apply engineering principles and concepts to area of embedded control is required. Ability to troubleshoot and debug hardware control issues is required. Proficiency at solving problems in a timely manner is required. Ability to define critical project criteria to ensure completion is required. Ability to draw solutions from both formal training and experience is required. Ability to work independently and within a tight-knit team environment is required. Experience in analog/RF hardware environment is highly desirable. Experience with embedded control design and coding for military environments is highly desirable.

Education and/or Experience BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS from an accredited four-year college or university required. 5 years of experience using VHDL (including simulation), C/C++, and assembly language for embedded applications required.
