This position is responsible for design, implementation, and operational support for Integra Telecom*s enterprise LAN and WAN. In this role, the prospective candidate will be responsible for all networking aspects of enterprise data centers, enterprise WAN, perimeter security, and wireless networks. This position is a combination of design and hands on implementation in a collaborative team environment working to establish standards for a consistent network model with optimum bandwidth efficiency and fault tolerance.
A minimum of five years, *hands on*, WAN/LAN, multi-protocol network engineering and implementation experience in a large WAN environment.
Experience with data center core responsibilities from physical facility to logical design models.(Spanning tree,VTP,VLANs,physical cabling)
Strong knowledge IP communication and routing is required (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
Strong knowledge of security and firewall best practices, design, processes, and implementation.
Experience with QOS for traffic shaping implementations (VOIP, etc.).
Understand WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet, MPLS, TDM circuits).
Strong organization and analytical skills, project and vendor management skills, good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required.
Must have experience supporting mission critical networks and services and be willing to participate in on-call rotation.
Must have strong self-initiative and the ability to identify and resolve needs outside the primary job requirements.
Must be willing and able to travel upon occasion.
