Job Description

POSITION TITLE: System Administrator - Ecommerce
REPORTS TO: Manager * Ecommerce Infrastructure

PURPOSE:
Assist Senior Architect and Manager with maintaining the ae.com, martinandosa.com, aerie.com and 77kids.com websites and infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and maintain operating systems on servers (J2EE Application servers, Database servers, Web servers) and networking devices
Maintain integrity of the network architecture of the e-commerce environment including but not limited to switches, routers, firewall, load balancers, VLANs, VPN, private and public IP address space.
Manage backup and recovery of production servers, staging and dev servers
Perform capacity planning and sizing of e-commerce environment including but not limited to use of stress testing tools.
Assist in configuration and maintenance of J2EE application server.
Assist with mitigating cross functional business requirements.
Manage relations with external business partners as related to technical infrastructure requirements.
Provide business continuity on-call services for after hours support to the web site and respond to business critical emergency situations.
All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in CS or IS or equivalent technical qualifications.
3+ years experience administering / managing UNIX or LINUX systems preferably Solaris 5.9, 5.10, Red Hat Linux.
Experience with networking devices: Cisco, Juniper, F5 application firewalls and load balancers
Expert skills in shell scripting (ksh, bash).
Advanced knowledge of regexp scripting
Oracle 9i/10g and or MySQL experience is a plus.
Experience installing, upgrading and maintaining JBOSS application servers on UNIX platform (partitioning, clustering)
Basic Java knowledge required (beans, servlets, JSP)
Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP protocol (routing, firewalling, networking)
Intermediate knowledge of these services * Bind, Sendmail, Postfix, ProFTPd, Inetd, Sshd, Apache, Sun One Webserver, Tomcat
Basic knowledge of monitoring tools like Netcool, Nagios, and HP Openview
Some experience with load-testing tools like HP Loadrunner. Basic understanding of loadtesting techniques
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
Strong analytical, prioritizing, planning, problem-solving, and presentation skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
Ability to work with and influence senior management
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
