Come and see why so many of our employees have been with us for more than 20 years! We have an immediate opening for a Process Control Engineer position in our PHOENIXVILLE division.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing high quality PLC programs and HMI graphics for real time control and monitoring, along with providing technical and administrative assistance to departments in developing operational systems or process controls, including method of implementation. Provides operation assistance during start-up and any maintenance and repair functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

An understanding of electrical circuits, programming concepts, and process control instrumentation.

Have a strong knowledge of the current state of control systems and instrumentation.

Develops PLC control systems to operate and control remote systems and booster stations.

HMI design and support, and SQL database configuration and report design.

Assures all automated control systems are interoperable with all company systems for exchange of information or reports.

Develops PLC and HMI systems that provide a "Window" for water plant operators to observe and control water treatment, filtering and pumping processes.

Acts as the interface between the software and hardware vendor and the department requesting the process control application in order to answer questions, resolve problems and satisfy needs.

Assists all Production Departments in resolving field problems with software, hardware and electronic control equipment including PLC programming and troubleshooting; and TCP/IP network implementation and troubleshooting.

Prepares special reports and studies as requested by Department Management and Vice President of Production.

May conduct or assist in developing training courses on various PLC & control systems at all Aqua PA locations.

Maintains documentation for Install Base; and all work completed including descriptions of operation and electrical drawings.

Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Other duties as assigned.

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and must have at least three years experience in Computer/PLC System Control Design. Experience in the water system process control field will impact on total years experience. Also, must have experience with the configuration of Microsoft Windows NT networks. Experience with network routing is a plus. Familiarity with object oriented programming methods is desired. Experience with Modicon PLCs, Unity or Concept software, Intouch or other similar HMI software, Autocad and SQL are all desired. Basic understanding of electric circuits and electronic controls required. Valid driver's license is required.

Strong inter-personal skills will be required for interfacing with the plant managers and operators using the SCADA systems. This position requires the ability to work independently and take projects from concept through startup.
