Custom Applications. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with one of our well
known South Florida Clients.

The Software Engineer, Custom Applications will support the Commission
system. The Software Engineer will work with team of external resources to
aid in the care and feeding of this application. Develop designs and
estimates and oversee development activities for projects as well as monthly
releases.

Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with support activities with application by working on help desk
tickets assigned to the group for break/fix items.
* Prepare detailed technical design documents and estimates to help the
business understand the level of effort involved with enhancement and
project requests.
* Coordinate work with External resources to ensure they understand the
requirements and solution design prior to development beginning.
* Perform thorough unit testing before migrating code to test environment.
* Make recommendations for the application that fall in line with short term
and long term strategic goals of the application.

Requirements:
Education
* Bachelors of Computer Science or related field

Experience
* 3 years developing in the RPG programming language on the iSeries
environment
* 3 years developing Java/J2EE web applications
* 3 years experience with integrating to multiple databases in Oracle, DB2
and Informix via stored procedures and/or webservices
* At least 3 years experience with developing and supporting Incentive
Compensation applications
* 2 years experience with using modeling tool, Cool Plex preferred
* Experience with canned software packages such as Callidus and/or Synygy
preferred

Skills
* Understanding of AS400 (iSeries)Technology
* Strong Communication skills when dealing with internal IT people as well
as people from the business units
* Strong experience in documenting technical specifications and working with
Architects to document Architecture at the Hardware and Software level
