Senior Systems Engineer - Wireless Systems Architect

Our Client is a privately held, venture-backed company whose mobile network products are enabling mobile operators around the globe to deliver high-performance, low-cost voice, data and IMS services over fixed and mobile broadband networks.
Our Client has an immediate opening for a Sr. Systems Engineer. This position is expected to meet the demands of our customers and internal staff with accuracy and speed. Responsibilities:
* Create new technology and solutions for the UMA, femtocells, and VoLGA market segments
* Work with industry peers to drive adoption of company technology into industry standards
* Represent company, and present and defend company technology solutions at technical meetings and in standards activities (e.g., 3GPP, or carrier-driven multi-vendor fora)
* Develop system architecture for company's network infrastructure solutions
* Develop system requirements specifications
* Develop system interface specifications
* Integrate 3GPP wireless standards into company's wireless solutions
* Investigate HW/SW technologies, architectures and design options
* Provide technical support to company*s product managers
* Prepare and present technical presentations within the company and externally
* Prepare technical information for patent applications and work with patent attorney
Skill Requirements:
* MS/PhD in EE/CS or equivalent
* 10+ years of development engineering experience in telecommunications is required
* 5+ years of wireless systems engineering experience is required
* Experience with 3GPP standards and standards development process; 3GPP femtocells and/or EPS/LTE
* Experience in system requirements specification and architecture development is required
* Experience in standards development is required
* Expert knowledge of GSM, GPRS, UMTS, and EPS / LTE wireless standards and implementation issues is required
* Knowledge of Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA), femtocells, and VoLGA standards is a plus
* Knowledge of wireless data communications (GPRS, EPS) and Internet protocols (IP, IPSec, TCP, SSL, Mobile IP) is a plus
* Must have been recognized for ability to independently assess a variety of technologies and deliver effective strategies and solutions with minimal guidance
* Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
* Strong leadership skills are required
