Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Field Service Engineering Technician. Field Service Engineering Technician
Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and repair SEL products to the component level.
- Provide basic product technical support to SEL staff and customers.
- Perform service related activities at customer sites.
- Assist with the root cause analysis of field failures.
- Write and/or conduct experiments in support of department objectives.
- Provide support to engineering staff and management as needed.
- Follow and improve SEL service related processes.
Qualifications:- Two-year electronic technology associate degree
- Minimum 3 years experience providing technical service and/or engineering support in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics and microprocessors
- Familiarity with modern test equipment
- Strong writing and speaking skills
- Willing to travel up to 25%
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications:- Software programming skills in "C", assembly, and communication script languages
- Experience with troubleshooting microprocessor-based products
- Practical knowledge of power systems
