Position Summary & Major Responsibilities:
The Sale Engineer role will specialize in configuring and demonstrating the ArcFM Solution to existing and prospective customers. Primary responsibilities will include development of technical requirements to meet benchmark and demonstration specifications, preparation and configuration of ArcSDE Geodatabases, supporting domestic and international conferences and demonstration of software. The Sales Engineer will work closely with the Strategic Account Manager as well as international business partners. The Sales Engineer will also work closely with the product development team to review product functionality and direction.
The Sales Engineer will normally be working on multiple tasks and will need the ability to multitask effectively. This position will require travel, both domestically and internationally. Travel will typically not exceed 25% but extended travel with relatively short notice does occur. One (US) to two (international) weeks travel time is not uncommon for benchmark situations depending on complexity of benchmark.
Education & Experience Preferred:
*BS degree in computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or geography. Relevant job experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree
*Experience with ArcGIS is required
*Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required
*Experience with commercial RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server preferred
*Experience with utilities a plus
*Experience developing end-user applications with an object oriented programming language, such as C# or Visual Basic a plus
*Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
