This project involves extending the functionality of an existing code base for a DICOM viewer and RIS product, which are written in C#. This is the code base that the project began with:
We are extending the functionality of the DICOM viewer and RIS product. This is a pure telecommuting position.
We want to start with 20 or more hours a week for a 3-month trial period. This trial period may be extended to a full time position. The position will be paid hourly depending on the prior experience of the developer.

Application developer needed to maintain and extend DICOM and RIS client/server software for Microsoft Windows.
The candidate shall have expert-level knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in all of the following:
- strong ability to understand, expand and communicate object-oriented designs - client/server application development using the C# programming language and the Microsoft .NET application framework - relational database development using Microsoft frameworks (specific SQL Server experience is a plus) - networking and inter-process application development using the .NET framework - multi-threaded programming - custom user interface development for Microsoft Windows
The following would be welcome and helpful, but not required:
- experience with ClearCanvas platform - experience in graphics or image processing development - experience in the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard - experience in specific commercial or open-source frameworks for DICOM programming - experience in medical information systems, procedures or standards - knowledge of other application programming languages, for example, Java - knowledge of operating systems other than Windows (UNIX, Linux, Mac OS)
