We have an immediate need for a Database Developer in our Tampa, FL office.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Use .NET (C# or VB.NET) and SQL to build maintainable and highly scalable applications.
Troubleshoot programmatic and design flaws and engineer solutions.
Troubleshoot locking issues and deadlocks.
Tune queries in SQL Server using execution plans, SQL Profiler.
Provide 3rd level support for all assigned products.
Develop technical and user documentation as well as document all code.
Participate in code reviews and troubleshooting.
Accountable and responsible for the development of business critical high-availability products that operate 24/7/365 and are distributed nationwide to many clients.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Four year college degree majoring in Engineering or Computer Science and/or related business experience.
2-4 years plus experience designing and building applications using the Microsoft development platform.
Proficiency in NET (C# or VB.NET), t-SQL, SQL Server; Oracle experience a plus.
Understanding how table/row locking works in SQL Server and the implications.
Knowledge of writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, transactions and triggers.
Experience working with complex database operations (i.e. ETL, bulk loading, creation of reporting database, SSIS, DTS packages, etc.).
Experience troubleshooting and tuning an active database sever.
Database certification a plus.
Strong verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively on team-based development projects.
Strong problem solving skills.
Self motivated and detail oriented.
Financial Services experience, preferably in the tax preparation and accounting industry, is a plus.
