Provide web application architecture and administration expertise in a Microsoft IIS .NET environment as well as administering a variety of multi-tiered application environments, while providing level 3 support/incident resolution.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft IIS 5.0/6.0 ASP & .NET web based environments on Windows 2000/2003. Responsibilities include new site and virtual directory creation, server tuning using application pooling, creating web farms etc.
* Management and configuration of F5 Big-IP Content Switches, at a network and application layer. Responsibilities include System Integration work with existing IIS or Java-based web applications to function in a load-balanced environment.
* Interact with and support development teams through application changes/deployments, while monitoring the web and application environments to maintain availability.
* Installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance of internally developed and vendor published distributed applications on Windows Server 2000/2003.
* Assist development teams throughout life cycle on engineering application architectures and standards.
* Provide level 3 support to Help Desk and Network Operations Center on application issues per established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Open, manage, and resolve application issues with external application vendors.
* Create and maintain technical documentation for the web and application environments, including network diagrams, installation and configuration procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, and operational procedures.
* Provide Help Desk and Network Operations Center documentation/procedures for resolving common or recurring problems.
* Provide Disaster Recovery services for the web and application environments by maintaining recovery inventory, plans and actively participating in DR testing.
* Monitor application performance and provide recommendations to improve performance when appropriate.
* Establish application monitoring standards and ensure applications are proactively being monitored to reduce downtime.
* Work with Network Operations Center and Monitoring team to fine-tune system and application monitors.
* Develop, communicate, and coordinate plans for application, OS, and hardware upgrades.
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience required.
* Experience with Microsoft .NET 1.1/2.0 deployments required.
* Minimum 3 years experience supporting Microsoft IIS in a Windows 2000/2003 environment required.
* Minimum 5 years Windows server administration experience required, including application connectivity to SQL Server through ODBC/ADO.
* Experience with hardware & software load balancers, such as F5 BIG-IP and Microsoft NLB required.
* Knowledge of scripting languages, such as VBScript or PERL required.
* Experience with Single-Sign-On architectures, such as RSA Cleartrust or Netegrity required.
* Experience writing technical documentation and procedures required.
* Experience developing application monitoring or working experience with enterprise application monitoring tools preferred.
* Experience with TCP/IP and Active Directory preferred.
* Ability to train other Application Services Team Members on supported applications.
* Experience developing application monitoring or working experience with enterprise application monitoring tools preferred.
