Power Systems Engineer

Operation Technology, Inc. (OTI) is seeking power systems engineers to join its consulting & analytical services team:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, conceptual design, system expansion and training. Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates is desirable.
* Perform engineering assignments that will involve power systems analysis, power quality assessment and audits, consulting and design services,
and problem solving relative to industrial and commercial power systems and equipment.
* This position would focus on short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, transient stability and power quality analysis.
* Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
* May design and conduct specialized training for customers.
* May mentor or lead other engineers on projects.

Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering is required (power elective courses preferred)
M.S. in Power System Engineering (preferred)
Required
3-5 years experience of power systems engineering work.
PE license (or equivalent) is preferred.
Computer Skills related to creation of reports and presentations in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Capability to research, interpret and utilize electrical manufacturer technical manuals, datasheets & characteristic curves
Desired
Working knowledge of ETAP
Proficiency in modeling and analysis for industrial and distribution power systems
Strong analytical skills for use in response to technical queries from customers
Knowledge of corporate and business unit policies.
Working knowledge of billing and invoicing policies for service.
Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
