The Division of Environmental Health and Engineering (DEHE), Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium*s (ANTHC) is the second-largest division, provides planning, design, construction and operations support of public health infrastructure in Native communities throughout the state of Alaska. Skill Set and Background
DEHE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have the following skill sets and background:

* Knowledge of principles of mechanical engineering and construction, including design of health and sanitation facilities in Arctic climates.
* Knowledge of applicable environmental health statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, codes, administrative orders and other operational guidelines and directives.
* Knowledge of mechanical processes and specifications for plumbing and HVAC systems.

* Skill in analyzing environmental health issues and preparing recommendations based on findings.
* Skill in evaluating the work of contractors and consultants for compliance with project plans, specifications and applicable laws, ordinances and policies.
* Skill in maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, regional Tribal organizations, and representatives from other local, state and Federal agencies.
* Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
* Skill in reading and evaluating blueprints and technical schematics.
* Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
