RESPONSIBILITIES
Member of the engineering team, developing software for a medical information and imaging product. Will be responsible for:
Design, implementation and testing of applications that use Microsoft, Oracle and other industry standard technologies.
Application design within the parameters established for a given project.
Working closely with other staff members to coordinate assignments and communicate progress and/or difficulties.
Participation in department-specific and project-wide meetings.
Providing input, solutions and recommendations.
Assisting with other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Essential
* BS or BE in Computer Science or related field.
* At least 7 years real-world product development experience that must include:
Object Oriented data modeling using UML or similar
Persisting Object Oriented data from a Microsoft runtime environment into an Oracle relational database
Entity Relationship modeling and relational database design
Development of complex algorithms using C++ or similar
Development of database-resident logic in an Oracle environment using stored procedures, packages etc
Development of interactive and non-interactive data access through web protocols.
* Language/environment knowledge:
C++, Visual Studio, XML, XMLDOM, XSL, XPath, MSXML, ADO, ASP, PL/SQL, SQL, Javascript.
Microsoft web server technologies including ISAPI, IIS configuration and authentication.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven problem-solving skills.
* Strong software development discipline.
* Assertive team player with demonstrated initiative.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Desired
MS in Computer Science
Software development experience in the healthcare industry, especially hospital informatics, RIS or PACS.
Language/environment knowledge: HTML, COM, DLL, .NET.
XML data persistence.
Understanding of Web 2.0, ontologies, triple stores
