Biochemical Engineer to join our team!

To qualify for this technically challenging position must possess a PhD in Biochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, and a minimum of 2 years experience in industry or as a post-doc.

Successful candidate must have developed strong biochemical, biomedical and/or biopharmaceutical engineering capabilities and have a knack for innovative solutions to technically challenging problems through work experience in a research and product and/or a process development environment.

Good general industrial process knowledge and strong interest in conducting research and development on advanced fermentation and bioreactor technologies, tissue engineering, and cell culturing; including mammalian cells, fungi, plant cells, insect cells, etc. Interests and capabilities to include reactor technology development, reactor equipment specification/design, instrumentation, experimental skills and working knowledge of laboratory and pilot operations.

An inquisitive, problem-solving disposition is required. Responsibilities will encompass development of biotechnology equipment, new process and new products in an advanced R&D environment. Applications for the technologies include production of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins and tissue engineering.

In this role, the candidate will take responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion. The candidate will generate project requirements to resolve product/process problems and to support development of new products/processes. The candidate will initiate technical investigations, prepare protocols, develop, and apply advanced theories, methods and research techniques in solution of complex and advanced biotechnical problems.



Requirements

* PhD in Biochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited college is required

* Minimum of 2 years experience in industry or as a post-doc

* General industrial process knowledge

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Authorized to work in the United States

* Ability to work independently and collaborate with chemists, biologists, mechanical engineers and chemical engineers to optimize biologically active molecules

* Strong work ethic and team player attributes
