Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
Motorola's Sunnyvale office, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, is looking for talented, experienced, and motivated software engineers to help make its Android products a success. If you dream about hacking Android and enjoy seeing a consumer product come to life, we would love to see your resume. Specifically, we are looking for strong system developers whose skills are broad and who can deliver complex software under demanding schedules and conditions. The ideal candidate must be an excellent programmer, have a strong sense of software design and architecture, and come armed with solid analytical and troubleshooting skills. Enthusiasm for tackling the complex problems involved in taking new and cutting-edge devices through the entire product cycle is a must.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
* 10+ years developing complex software systems
* Excellent C and C++ coding skills
* Object-oriented design skills
* Java and Unix/Linux experience a huge plus
* A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
* Tack-sharp analytical ability -- you should be able to dive into mounds of new code and pick it apart
* Strong design and optimization skills
* Excellent communication skills
* BA/BS in CS or equivalent, MS preferred
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of Java VM or Linux internals a big plus
* SQL experience a plus
* Any of the following: device drivers, networking, Web services, multimedia toolkits, embedded OS, UI frameworks
