Network / Cisco Engineer

Are you a Network Engineer with Cisco expertise looking to join a growing technology company?

What you will be doing:

Our client is seeking a senior-level, experienced Cisco Engineer (CCNA and CCNP certifications not required, but a substantial plus). Strengths should include building and troubleshooting Cisco Switches, Routers, ASA Firewalls, and solid VPN troubleshooting skills. Candidate should have strong VoIP and MPLS experience, and a good understanding of EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF routing protocols. Experience designing data center components and being able to read diagrams produced by other architects and provide feedback are also important.

The incumbent will play a vital role in the following areas:

 Project Management
 Build for both Voice and Data services
 VoIP
 Network/ Voice equipment QA and Testing
 Deployment
 Start Up Support
 Change Management
 L2/L3 Support
 Operations
 Disaster Recovery

Responsibilities:

 Ensure that services deployed are reliable, available, and serviceable.
 Communicate changes that are required for design modifications.
 Deliver projects and services on-time and on-budget.
 Ensure full functionality when delivered to the operational network teams.
 Continually provide process improvement and increase efficiency matrix.
 Ensure there is a standard process in place and adhered to for support and management of the network that will drive consistent reliability and serviceability.
 Work closely with team members to meet all service commitments to the business.
 Work closely with other leaders of the IT Infrastructure team to communicate, share, and implement best practices.
 Be the expert on the technologies, tools, and processes for managing the above areas of responsibilities.
 Documentation of all build/deployment activities.

Minimal Skills Required:

 A minimum 5 to 7 years experience in developing, managing, and supporting data and voice networks in a high-availability, distributed environment.
 Proven experience with LAN, WAN, Wireless, VoIP, telephony applications, and VPN with knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, load balancing and SAN topology.
 Solid foundation in Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, Exchange, and SQL Server.
 Broad range of knowledge in Cisco Networking Systems and Cisco Call Manager.
 Strong knowledge of metrics reporting for network services.
 Cisco certifications such as Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
 Experience with network management tools such as Kaseya, Autotask, Solarwinds, OpenView, Ciscoworks, Opsware, Whats Up Gold, or similar technologies preferred.
