The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge and demonstrated hands on experience with one or more of the following products: NetQOS, IronPort Email Gateway, Blue Coat Web/FTP Proxy, Proventia IDS and Site Protector, LogLogic, Infoblox DNS appliance, Hyperic HQ, Cisco products and their configuration including Cisco 76xx, 65xx, and 47xx switches and routers, ACE load-balancer modules, Firewall Services Module, IDS module, Ciscoworks/LMS, ACS, CSM, ASA, MARS, Opnet Sentinel and IT Guru, Sun Directory Manager, Windows ADS, Tripwire.
Certification as a CCNP or CCNA desired.
Tasks:
Ability to take system architecture conceptual models and translate these into detailed designs of the system. Ability to lead a team or work independently to detail designs for platform hardware, software, networks, security devices, construction, and testing. Ability to design for performance, assembly/building, testing, and cost. Ability to estimate labor and materials, development processes, etc. Ability to specify instructions and configuration commands for the modification of existing network and security devices with the work to be performed by others (i.e. developers.)
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Clearance: Secret requiring an investigation within the last 5 years
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
