Division Description

ENSCO's Aerospace Sciences and Engineering division (ASE) is located in Cocoa Beach FL, with satellite offices in Illinois, California, Maryland, Alabama, and at the Kennedy Space Center in FL. ASE provides outstanding Space Launch Range support and meteorology services to a wide variety of government and civil customers.

ENSCO's systems engineering and system of systems approach is a great benefit to space launch ranges. Our MARSS systems support launch-range decision-makers in tracking toxic materials by acquiring and processing a broad set of meteorological measurements and observations during operational tests and launch operations.

ENSCO meteorologists provide operational support at the Applied Meteorology Unit (AMU), a cooperative effort of NASA, the U.S. Air Force and the National Weather Service. The AMU develops, evaluates and transitions technology to operations for weather support to America's space program.

RISE is ENSCO's Range Instrumentation Simulation Environment system. RISE is the result of ENSCO's development of mathematical models and simulations to reduce the risks and costs associated with testing and evaluating space launch range assets.

ENSCO provides critical aviation weather forecasting for United, Korean, and Singapore Airlines. ENSCO's premier weather forecasting decision support system, MetWise, provides professionals with a solution to increase safety, reduce cost and lessen weather impacts to critical operations.

Additionally, the ASE division provides on-site scientific and technical support for the National Weather Service AWIPS weather program in Silver Spring Maryland and NASA's Short-Term Prediction, Research and Transition program in Huntsville AL.
