We now have an opportunity for a Design Quality Assurance Engineer. The Design Quality Assurance Engineer has strategic and tactical responsibility for the validation of MEI products to customer, legal and internal requirements. Integral to this responsibility is the daily prioritization of activities to ensure business needs are met. Functional responsibilities include the creation and execution of validation plans, competitive product analysis and security analysis.
This position is responsible for supervision of MEI Technician(s), a variable number or currency feeders, technical test contractor resources (as required) and Co-Op student(s).
Roles & Responsibilities
- Management of the Design Assurance lab, including daily prioritization of test activity covering MEI validation, competitive analysis and security testing. Supervision and mentoring of various personnel. Hiring and daily direction of various Temporary Associates, Co-Op students and contractors
- Implementation of validation test strategies. Includes coordination of test activity, performance of various tests, analysis of results against planned outcome, controlled troubleshooting and interfacing with Project Engineers to resolve discovered issues
- Documentation and archiving of test results. Includes report generation, administration and maintenance of electronic and hardcopy archives and organization of product storage
- Creation of validation test plans to address new platforms and updates to legacy products. Includes definition of pass/fail criterion and introduction of new methodologies to address changing technology and product applications. Will be required to work with engineers at all levels to ensure these plans are understood and supported throughout the business
- Member of project development team(s)
- Creation and maintenance of currency test sets. Involves close interaction with R+D to monitor new technologies and bill introductions. Includes daily reconciliation and periodic audit responsibility
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of product test experience in a high volume production environment.
- Good knowledge of environmental test methodologies
- Good knowledge of statistical data analysis methods
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with electronic payment systems and industry
- Familiarity with optical design a desirable
- Good knowledge of currency security technology
- Good knowledge compliance requirements for currency transaction devices
