Information Security Engineer - iSeries , Mimix , CISSP


SUMMARY  


Work location for this position is flexible and commensurate with the job experience of the candidate.


The Information Security Engineer position will be part of a team responsible for the analysis and regulation of information security risk. This position will be involved with planning, documenting, implementing and supporting data security programs and processes; and new products and services in a distributed data center environment This will involve using automated and manual processes to secure operational and application components, monitor/measure security posture and respond to changes in dynamically changing data cemter operating environments.


Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in information security in a highly regulated industry (i.e. Financial, Insurance, Medical, Government). Candidate must have ability to implement, support and monitor automated security products, and recommend/perform actions required to maintain/improve security. These responsibities must be performed in an environment that is extremely sensitive to system availability. CISSP, CISA or any SANS-related certification, is strongly recommended. Knowledge of IT audit, security best practices, policies and procedures, risk assessment, regulatory requirements, (i.e., GLBA, FFIEC, PCI, etc.) is desired. Complex problem-solving skills, ability to think independently as well as work in a dynamic team groups, abilty to work within deadlines, strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills is required. Strong knowledge of Jack Henry core banking products and services is highly desired.


This position requires someone with a strong Mid Range (iSeries/AS400) competency. Thorough knowledge of IBM security best practices, Power6/7 iSeries OS, and ability to program using IBM native programming languates or interpret such programs. Strong proficiency with third-party security products such as NetiQ (Pentasafe), Bytware, PowerTech, third-party monitoring software, and MIMIX are highly desired. Additional xSeries, MS-OS, or AIX OS knowledge is a bonus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  


Develops the security of electronic information and establishes security systems, policies and procedures to prevent system compromise or infiltration. Assesses the impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration, or denial of access to information. Develops policies & procedures to ensure the security of relevant solutions. Investigates, recommends and monitors implementation of new security products and services. Acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers on security issues. Monitors and evaluates internal and external security threats. Researches security threats and implements appropriate changes to the OutLink iSecurity program to prevent company and customer data assets from being compromised. Acts as an escalation point for complex internal and customer facing security and support functions. Executes projects that drive current security initiatives and support the security solutions. Works closely with the management team to define and execute key process development and technology integration projects to enhance the security service offering. Follows up on security findings from security-related reviews and other third-party reviews.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  


* Associates degree or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred.

* Minimum of five to ten years of experience in related security administration field.

* This position requires someone with a strong (iSeries/AS400) competency. Thorough knowledge of IBM security best practices, Power6/7 iSeries OS, and ability to program using IBM native programming languates or interpret such programs. Strong proficiency with third-party security products such as NetiQ (Pentasafe), Bytware, PowerTech, third-party monitoring software, and MIMIX are highly desired. Additional xSeries, MS-OS, or AIX OS knowledge is a bonus.

* CISSP, GIAC, or IBM security administration certification required. Additional security certifications preferred (i.e., SANS, CISA, etc.)

* Excellent leadership, organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills.

* Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize and organize a diversified workload.

* Has a wide range of knowledge of diverse network, host-based and information security technologies and principles.

* Able to communicate well across all levels of the organization.
