Director of Business Development Medical Device Education

Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) is a recognized leader in providing full-service simulation-based training services to hospital personnel, medical product manufacturers, and medical societies. As an organization, we develop, sell and deliver simulation-based training and consulting services to the medical device and healthcare provider market.

The Director of Business Development in Manufacturing will be responsible for the sale of simulation technology, products and services to key medical device manufacturer accounts with US and worldwide operations. This ongoing process includes targeting and closing new customer contracts and increasing penetration of current customer accounts. We are looking for a hunter and a closer * someone who is ready for prospecting/ generating leads, appointment setting, face-to-face presentations, networking and closing new business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
* Identify new customers and analyze sales and business potential that could drive new revenue. Grow territory sales by understanding customer needs and identifying sales opportunities.
* Identify new opportunities within current customer accounts that will strengthen the relationship and provide increased revenue.
* Close new business deals with current and potential customers by gaining purchase orders, letters of intent and/or contracts.
* Qualify sales opportunities through market / customer research and teaming with inside sales representatives.
* Develop sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies. Communicate value proposition to customers. Propose sales solutions to customers and reevaluate solutions where necessary.
* Work within CRM system to build a pipeline of customer contacts and opportunities.
* Contribute to the MSC overall medical device manufacturer sales strategy.
* Provide input to the MSC product strategy that will provide a pipeline for future sales and business development opportunities.
* Collaborate with other MSC departments to collect the necessary information to provide estimates for customer presentations and proposals.
* Collaborate with other MSC departments to supply information necessary to create contracts and deliver services.
* Support marketing activities, including training events and trade shows, especially those that involve key accounts and targeted customers.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
* Exceptional track record in solution selling to key decision makers.
* BA/BS degree.
* Minimum 3 years experience in sales, and/or key account management in a medical environment.
* Ability to discuss strategy and sensitive issues, influence management and customers, and consider interests of others during discussions and negotiations.
* Ability to provide exceptional customer service to medical professionals and manufacturer personnel.
* Proven communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
* Ability to assess conflicting priorities, make optimal decisions, and communicate effectively.
* Ability to use PC, Internet and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* The position requires a self-starter and someone who is dependable and accountable.
* Travel required up to 60%, including international travel.


Preference given for the following experience:
* Previous experience in software or capital equipment sales to complex organizational structures.
* Previous experience working with a CRM system.
