I am looking for a motivated software engineer to support existing software solutions and participate in the architecture, design, development and support of new product initiatives. You must be willing (and excited) to take full responsibility for a project from concept to completion with minimal supervision.



Responsibilities

Translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications

Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring and direction to other team members

Design and write software code

Troubleshoot and correct software defects

Perform unit testing of software code

Support of production software solutions

Assist in the preparation of project plans and product roadmaps, specifically in the areas of task breakdown, estimating, and scheduling



Qualifications

10+ years of experience

Commercial product development experience is a MUST

Maintenance coding in C and Java (50%)

New Development coding in Java (50%)

Oracle database exposure (heavy PL/SQL is not a requirement)

Heart of position is back-end server work

Experience with large-scale, high-volume, N-tier systems

Unix (Solaris) and Linux experience

Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python) is a big plus

Web Services (SOAP, WSDL) experience is a big plus

Bachelor*s Degree (B.A.) is a big plus, but not a requirement
