As a senior member of an operations team this individual will be expected to be responsible for the 24x7x365 operational support of the company's Search application and infrastructure. Specific and daily tasks include application deployments, configurations, problem determination, administration, documentation and ongoing operational maintenance of Search applications across diverse company systems sites in multiple data centers. This individual is expected to be responsible for following established procedures but also adding value by enhancing existing processes, taking ownership and challenging the status quo. A robust understanding of Linux and MS Windows server operating systems, LAN/WAN's, their respective protocols, associated hardware are perquisites, for this senior engineer position. Excellent communication, collaboration, project planning skills and the ability to multi task are necessary traits.

Required Skills:

• Minimum five years experience in a medium to large production environment or IDC
• One to four years experience of installing/upgrading and maintaining Endeca Search engines, preferably versions 4.8 and higher. Prior comprehensive experience with Verity, Autonomy or FAST search engines is an acceptable substitute.
• Demonstrable experience and track record of installing and maintaining Endeca, FAST, or Verity/Autonomy search engines.
• Demonstrable experience and track record of maintaining Red Hat Linux server systems
• Demonstrable experience and track record of supporting Apache, IIS and Tomcat servers
• Demonstrable experience and track record of supporting Java, .NET XML based applications
• Excellent problem determination and analytic skills / experience
• Excellent knowledge and hands on experience with TCP/IP, enterprise server and Network hardware, networking protocols and all associated services (DNS, AD, DHCP, etc.)
• Experience planning and implementing significantly sized projects with a focus on applications application workflow and to a lesser extent databases.
• Multitasking skills; an ability to work effectively and professionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired (not required) Skills:

• Java script, XML, .net application coding experience highly desirable
• Prior experience with server virtualization leveraging VMWare is highly desirable
• Development experience with various languages, shell (bash) or Perl scripting abilities is highly desirable

Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science highly desirable or equivalent experience.
