AdvancedMD is looking for a highly motivated, goal oriented and forward thinking candidate to join our Engineering team as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. You will be responsible to develop and execute software test plans in order to identify software problems, their causes, and make recommendations for a resolution.
This position will give you exciting opportunities to use your programming and database management skills to perform the job functions as described below:
* Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operation systems or network environments
* Maintain database of known test defects
* Design test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
* Design or develop automated testing scripts
* Develop or specify standards, methods or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
* Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retest or usability
* Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards
* Evaluate or recommend software for testing or bug tracking
You will need the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in this exciting position:
* Strong programming skills in data base management system software and web platform development software
* Applicable experience in testing
* Proven ability to develop automated testing tools
* Detail orientated
* Motivation to drill deep into software to identify and develop solutions to defects
* Ability to communicate with various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
* Program management skills: ability to set milestones and proactively meet commitments
* Troubleshooting skills necessary to determine and fix causes of operating errors
* Ability to work alone or as part of a team, displaying a good natured, cooperative attitude
Education and Experience Required:
The following education and experience is a must:
* BS in Computer Science or 4 years additional formal QA experience
* 3 years experience creating automation scripts using commerical automation software (e.g. Mercury Interactive, Seque Silk, Empirix
* Experience with database systems with an ability to create SQL queries
* A sound understanding of QA concepts and methodologies
* Solid experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle
* Excellent problem solving abilities, effective leadership and teamwork skills
The following experience would be very useful:
* Experience testing, building, or using healthcare related software (PMS or EMR)
* Experience with web services built using AJAX
* Experience with Scrum or other Agile Framework
