HERAE is looking for a skilled entry-level software engineer. Candidate will be an adaptable self-starter with a desire to collaborate with the team and contribute ideas to ensure a successful product. Candidate will have experience with Java EE and be capable of working with all levels of applications from client-side HTML scripting to database SQL. Candidate will be familiar with web app architecture.
Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot, develop and unit test Java EE apps. Apps include a web app for internal use, external customer, and an app for data interchange with health care plans, banks, and other partners.
* Document the design and operations of systems.
* Be a hard-working, adaptable problem solver with good communication skills.
Required Skills, Education and Experience
* Understanding of software engineering principles and object oriented design.
* Understanding of Java/Java EE technologies including EJBs.
* Understanding of front-end user interfaces and JSP programming techniques including HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
* Good understanding of SQL basics.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and detail-oriented problem diagnosis.
* Good communication and technical writing skills.
* Ability to work closely with a small team in a collaborative environment.
* BS Computer Science or equivalent.
* Minimum one year of relevant experience.
Desired Skills, Education and Experience
* Knowledge of Oracle databases, stored procedures and PL/SQL.
* Understanding of Hibernate, XML, Apache, and JBoss.
* Experience with Linux.
* Experience with EDI, XML, and data transformation processes.
* Experience with Crystal Reports, Jasper Reports, or another reporting framework.
* Understanding and Experience with data warehouse applications.
* Experience performing application builds and deployments to Linux using ANT/Maven build tools.
* Experience with development in an agile development environment.
