Osram Sylvania, one of the world's largest lighting manufacturers, is looking for a Quality Engineer for our facility in York, PA.

The Quality Engineer would work under general management and with a high level of technical creativity to:

-Develop comprehensive approaches to meeting the technical objectives of the program, including designing and installing quality control process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques

-Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment

-Analyze production limitations and standards

-Recommend revision of specifications when indicated

-Formulate/assist in formulating quality control policies and procedures related to quality engineering, supplier management, and outsourcing

-Develop the economics of any quality control program when required

- Analyze reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions

-Interface with supplier quality representatives concerning quality problems

This person would be viewed as company expert in the specific functional area and will represent quality assurance in product design and development projects.


BS degree in Engineering required with 5 years relevant experience (supplier management, automotive quality systems, FMEA, 8D problem solving, PPAP) or MS entry level (in a science or engineering field)

Job level will be determined on experience of successful candidate

Experience in Access Database programming preferred

Experience with ISO preferred

Ability to work with limited supervision
