Four Rivers Software, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based leading provider of state of the art comprehensive maintenance management solutions (CMMS) to the healthcare industry, has an opportunity for a Field Engineer. Travel to facility sites is required. The organization has successfully implemented their Total Maintenance System (TMS) Family of products in over 2,100 healthcare facilities throughout the United States. The TMS software uses the latest .NET and true web-based technologies.

This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the ability to be an integral, highly visible part of successful product implementation and ongoing favorable customer relations by the installation of systems and training of client personnel throughout the United States. Travel is involved in at least 85% of the assignments supporting exciting and challenging installations and training of client personnel. Multi level types of training such as one-on-one, platform, and group (classroom) are utilized in educating client personnel. Training is an important part of the Field Engineer responsibilities and involves delivering clear and easy class instructions as well as communication of difficult concepts while maintaining professional presentation skills. In addition, the Field Engineer will provide necessary consulting services and modifications to insure successful adaptation to the client’s requirements along with the provision of eLearning and eConsulting services. The Field Engineer creates and modifies advanced customer reports using TMS Reporting tools for Advanced Reports, Crystal Reports, and Component One Report Writer. You’ll be able to draw on your experience and self-reliance to devise and utilize creative solutions and to troubleshoot, perform product testing, and resolve issues in addition to writing, selecting, updating, and deleting SQL statements in successfully meeting customer expectations. Further, the Field Engineer assists customers in a Call Center role or software testing capacity when not performing customer site assignments.      

Qualifications to receive consideration for this opportunity:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in technical training, preferably in a computer software environment.
  • Experience with IIS, COM Components, MS Access, MS Sequel Server 2000/2005/2008/2012, Windows NT/ 2000/XP/Win 7/2003/2008 OS, and networking in addition to LAN and web based applications.
  • Excellent computer software troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • CAD experience of any type is desirable.
  • An ability and willingness to travel extensively (85%).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, classroom management and teaching technical applications skills. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in planning and conducting multi level types of training such as one-on-one, platform, and group (classroom) is essential for success in this position.
  • Functional experience in hospital plant operations, IT or clinical engineering department is desirable.
  • An ability to be a self-starter and self-motivation. (To work independently)
