This a global news, media, and financial services company, is looking for a uniquely qualified Senior Computer Science Trainer. The R&D Training Team works closely with the various programming groups to analyze training needs and to provide internally/externally developed job skills training, as well as professional development programs. The training programs support both the current R&D staff, as well as new R&D employees. Trainers are responsible for curriculum development as well as presentation of the various training programs and initiatives. The selected C++ Instructor / UNIX/C Trainer candidate will be developing course curriculum and training six week classes of approximately 35 college graduates, many of which will have their Ph.D degree.
Qualified ideally regionally local Senior UNIX/C/C++ Instructor / Computer Science Trainer candidates will have:
-It is essential to have technical expertise gained through practical programming experience, as well as advanced academic training in a relevant discipline including the ability to apply that practical experience to communicate technical concepts effectively in a training environment.
-A Doctorate - Ph.D or Masters in Computer Science, Physics or Engineering or equivalent major.
-Relevant technical training, classroom stand-up teaching experience in business or in academia, curriculum development and software management or team leadership.
-Solid C/C++ development/programming, OOD-Object oriented design and UNIX development.
-A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and modular/object-oriented design
-Experience with relational database technologies
-Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
-Ability to multi-task, and to work independently and effectively under pressure
-Prior training experience in either a business or academic setting
Other desirable skills include:
-Experience with web technologies (XML, PHP, Apache, etc.)
-Experience with multi-threaded programming
-Unix scripting / Perl
Qualified candidates will have clear English writing and speaking skills not requiring repeating during rapid English speaking conversation.
