Network Field Service Technician 


The field service network technician will travel to a new site - set up network, pull wire, extend network from headquarters to remote location, then support the network for a specified duration.

The network technician will travel to many different locations so it can be a very exciting opportunity for the right individual.

Successful candidate needs to think outside of box to create a virtual office off site; building network from scratch including cabling, switches, routers, access points and fiber.  Provide wireless internet, printers, laptops, ipads.  Extend network from headquarters to remote locations including creating a VPN tunnel from corporate office and allowing users same access. Must be willing and able to travel 70% of the time to fulfill the duties of this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Associates degree/Technical certification or equivalent work experience. 
  • 1-2 years of experience within the network, telecom, desktop support, data processing, or information services areas. 
  • Printer Support and Troubleshooting
  • Windows 7 Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Office Products
  • Network and or office IT applications support.  (Tier 2)
  • Must have a basic knowledge of all areas of networking and possess the ability to work on the correlating systems and equipment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the first three layers of the OSI model.
  • Pulling and terminating structured cabling Cat5/Cat6, provisioning Access Points and the deployment of Networked office equipment including Printers.
  • Must possess skills to interface with various departments, internal and external customer groups to perform necessary  work.
  • Possesses an awareness of customer requirements with emphasis on major initiatives.
  • Self-Motivated:  Able to thrive in a fast paced environment with minimal direction.
  • Establish communication with Project Management personnel in order to report task updates and issues related to project build, maintenance and support.
  • Able to respond effectively to diverse demands under high pressure situations. 
  • Must provide flexible, personal availability for the constant travel requirements. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Networking, Cisco, Server, PC, Laptop and Printer experience
  • Wireless Technology

  • Video/Audio background helpful

  • Video/graphics background a plus

  • Interpersonal skills: such as communication skills, active listening and customer-care

  • Must enjoy working as part of a team

  • Diagnosis skills of technical issues

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately

  • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided

  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

  • CompTIA A+

  • CompTIA Network+

  • Has worked as Field Technician and is familiar with all the responsibilities that that includes.
