Primary Duties:
  • Liaison between IT and the Corp Comms/Public Affairs (PA)/Govt Relations organization. 
  • Responsible for understanding the business overall goals and objectives, assisting in the prioritization of business technology projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum return on investment, and linking IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy.
  • Responsible for gathering, interpreting, prioritizing and fulfilling the business technology requirements of their client through their connection and collaboration with the solutions and delivery mechanisms of company's IT dept.
  • Partner with Corp Comms Digital Lead to develop and execute multi-year IT roadmap aligned to the digital communications strategy for internal and external communications channels.
  • Serves as the chief strategic liaison between the Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations area and IT.
  • Serves in a PA/Govt Relations is a key client relationship role; they will act as an advocate for the client.
  • This role works with their clients at several organizational levels.
  • Works with business area leadership and governance teams to understand project requirements, shape project requests, and provide a high-level estimate of the project effort and costs in cost-benefit analysis.
  • Works with business technology architects to identify potential solutions that match the business strategy with the technology strategy.
  • Coordinates the information needed for the IT organization's annual planning process, including budgeting, representing the demand for technology services from the Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations.
  • Partners with their client throughout the full life cycle development - from conception of ideas through planning, business case preparation, vendor selection, development, deployment and operations / stabilization.
  • Is a consultant to Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations on technology trends and technology delivery options. In this capacity,collaborates with IT peers and will serve as the IT lead on key stakeholders teams.
Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for collaborating with their IT counterparts and is accountable for guiding their area's solutions / delivery teams with business requirements as they interact with IT and the functions they support.
  • Professionally represent IT's capabilities and skills; communicator of the IT service catalog.
  • Wide and deep relationships with internal technology teams, external vendors and, most importantly, client leadership.
  • Partner to key stakeholders in Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations
  • Interaction and collaboration with other IT peers and service partners across the broader IT organization.
  • Overall solution delivery to the Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations clients.
  • Project / program / portfolio management and issue resolution.
  • The development of long-range business technology strategies for Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations.
  • Participates in technology aspects of business-sponsored projects and project requests.
  • Consultative support to business strategy planning.
  • New business initiative analysis.
  • Manages third party relationships through implementation and ensure an effective transition to appropriate operations staff.
  • Proactive relationship management with key technology vendors and providers.
  • Tracks business technology trends
  • Manager of demand management process from the Corp Comms/PA/Govt Relations clients.
  • Budget transparency and negotiations with clients.
Education and Experience Requirements
 
. Bachelor's Degree in the field of information technology, engineering, computer science and / or business administration (required)
. Advanced degree in business or technology, such as an MBA (preferred).
. More than 15 years experience managing and / or directing technology projects, including technology operations and the management and delivery of technology solutions (required)
. More than 5 years working in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences industry (not required)
. More than 5 years working in an IT role supporting communications, journalism, social media, marketing communications or related field (required)
. More than 3 years' experience managing the implementation of corporate intranets and/or external facing web sites is preferred
