Senior Architect (AVP)

Job Description:

Architect is needed for Application Development Delivery Common Service Database team This team supports Clint's flagship products NetExchange Pro, NetExchange 360, NetExchange Clients, and NetExchange Advisor with common frameworks of C++ with Oracle Po*C and Java with JDBC. The candidate will be responsible for developing technical solutions to support the growth of business. The candidate must have strong technical and communication skills and experience in OLTP. The candidate should be self-motivated and have the ability to make use of new technology materialized in client's framework. She or he needs to be able to work with team members in the US and INDIA and thus sometime odd hours. This position requires extreme hands-on.

The position also requires close interaction with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other technical teams. The candidate must be able to present and defend proposed technical solutions in various internal committees. The position requires the candidate to be in Jersey City or Florham Park in NJ.

Requirements:
* Analyze and design through the use of data modeling, process modeling, and event modeling techniques.
* Review requirements and design documents, and write design documents when necessary.
* Work with program managers, development managers, and team leads to provide estimate.
* Code application with high quality and cost effectively using defined specifications.
* Prepare test plans and conduct testing and debugging.
* Partner with various areas to ensure smooth transition through development cycle.
* Provide production support and application maintenance such as database SQL tuning.
* Be available during weekends and off hours for activities such as deployment of changes, DR testing, and emergencies.
* Adapt quickly and self-start to learn systems, internal tools and practices for application development.
* Provide level 1 production support for the products. Require the ability to analyze and identify root causes for the issues
* Master degree in computer science or related field.
* 5 or more years experience in IT industry with minimum 2+ years experience in brokerage and financial institutions.
* Technical skills must include distributed systems, Internet and web development in a UNIX environment with Oracle database.
* Must have significant Java, JDBC, Oracle performing tuning, PL/SQL, SQL development experience.
* Working knowledge of UNIX, C, and C++ is a plus.
* Experience in in-memory database & caching are plus
* Experience with multi-threading, J2EE are a plus.
* Must have analytical skills and significant problem solving experience.
* Data analysis is a must.
* Ability to learn things quickly, multi-tasking, and managing interruptions.
* Acceptable verbal and written communication skills a must with knowledge of MS Office.
* Knowledge of tools and process a definite plus: Remedy, Clear Case, and CM
