This individual will assist in developing the floor rack, overhead infrastructure, and fiber and copper connectivity layouts for multiple sites with technical design and evaluation services for owned, leased, and collocation data center facilities.
This role will also include space forecasting, space design to include structured data cabling and power distribution, raised floor project management, cost estimation, and reporting for all of the above.
The position will assist with raised floor standards, evaluations, and training. This includes racks, cabling and power supplies to be deployed throughout the company environment.
This is a critical role to ensure the efficient and cost effective use of company resources.

Decisions made by the person in this position will be critical to ensure that our infrastructure is fully automated, monitored, and recorded with the latest technology.
A successful candidate must be adept at communicating with both internal customer groups and external vendors.
Bachelor degree in Information Systems Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree and Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certified.
Demonstrated extensive experience in performing and documenting network cabling infrastructure site surveys.
Demonstrated detailed knowledge of copper and fiber-optic cable plants to include, various types of distribution systems (backbone and horizontal cabling), cabling and connector types, cable tray and cabling support methods.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in cabling infrastructure and network design of copper and fiber-optic cabling infrastructures.
Possess a demonstrated understanding of fiber-optic and copper cabling technologies and the ability to successfully integrate the components of new and existing network infrastructures.
Must be an effective communicator, both orally and in writing, and be able to discuss both cabling and networking issues with network users, administrators, consultants, architects and electrical engineers and make recommendations and set forth design proposals based on current and future network requirements.
Direct experience with data center construction in raised floor type areas, from conceptual design to completion.
Experience with data center operations installing data center types of equipment: network devices, security devices, web/application/database servers and other related devices for an enterprise level organization.
Experience in data center project management including the creation and administration of -RFP’s and bid packages.
Knowledge of data center science (power, cooling, data cabling), infrastructure, efficiency metrics, and best practices tier levels
Knowledge of rack installation timelines, equipment lead times, and data center start up activities in support of project schedule development.
Familiarity with applicable industry standards and groups (TIA-942, 563. ASHRAE TC 9.9, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings
Familiarity with MS Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to multi task, change priorities at a moment’s notice, and exhibit superior attention to detail
Must be able to get customer requirements for server space, completely design rack/cable/power layout for bid, and follow project through to completion
Ability to research trends in the industry and new technologies and apply them where necessary.
Must be a strong team player and able to explain complex technical issues to less experienced audiences
Proven ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with co-workers, reports, and senior management
System Admin or Network Admin experience is a plus
Experience with DCIM, asset management tools and asset management system development a plus
