Energy client in Downtown Houston has an immediate need for an Application Support Analyst supporting trade floor applications

This role provides general Tier Level 1 application support for a variety of applications, including custom and vendor applications utilized in multiple functions within an energy trading organization. This specialized role will be the first to troubleshoot, maintain, and provide support while also building working relationships and working collaboratively with other groups. The ideal candidate will have a vast knowledge of multiple technologies with an innate ability to troubleshoot and also provide resolution.

- Maintain day-to-day activities for system stability - Effective troubleshooting various vendor software and hardware issues - Participation in an on-call rotation for 24 hr real time support - Resolving to completion issues within the expected SLA - Ability to prioritize, identify and raise escalation on issues - Effectively communicate with end-users, vendors, and team-members - Provide detailed procedures and documentation

Requirements   • Degree from technical/vocational school or equivalent , Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems preferred. • Journey-level; varies depending on area, but generally 3-6 years directly related experience. • Intermediate knowledge of databases, including SQL Server and Oracle • Intermediate knowledge of infrastructure, including networking, Windows OS, security, web services, etc. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Excellent communication skills • General knowledge of the commercial power industry
