Job Description:

Raytheon AST is currently seeking a Deployment Engineer to provide technical engineering support to assist in the timely activation of system upgrades and installation of new system, including: system design, procurement of components, creation of documentation, system build (rack and stack), system integration, and system test
* Provide assistance and training of civilian and military maintenance personnel in identifying and isolating faulty system software and/or hardware components and restoring the system(s) to full operational capabilities.
* Plan, develop, document, and execute test programs to verify system operability and compliance with standards and requirements prior to deployment and retesting at completion of deployment.
* Install and configure new network components and/or software applications
* Perform hardware, operating system or application upgrades of workstations
* Adding and deleting user accounts and workgroups
* Implement and maintain network local network backups
* Diagnose and fix network and network-related problems
* Maintain network configuration management and related documentation, including System Security Plans or other documents mandated by NSA
* Provide technical network support to assist government personnel and assist government personnel and customer personnel to identify and isolate faulty network components, software or configuration and restore the system(s) to full operational capabilities


Required Skills:

* The Deployment Engineer shall be experienced as a deployment engineer in integrating, testing and deploying SIGINT systems.
The Deployment Engineer shall be required to have experience in following area:
* Experience in all aspects of deploying SIGINT systems to remote Third World locations overseas: including Site Surveys, Design and Integration, and Installation and Testing.
n addition, the Deployment Engineer shall be required to have experience in six of the following areas:
* Soldering and electrical assembly including chassis wiring, assembling systems connected via coaxial cable or waveguide, soldering wire to multi-pin connectors, and soldering components (including surface mount) to circuit cards. Shall be proficient in the construction of various coaxial, semi-rigid, data, control, and ribbon cable assemblies. Shall be able to read block and schematic diagrams, engineering notes, as well as use best judgment to assure proper fit and function. Shall understand and be able to properly operate test equipment such as function generators, signal generators, spectrum and network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, volt-ohm-ammeters, fiber optic meters, BIT error testers and test equipment. Shall be able to identi1' RF and electronic components including amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, couplers, isolators, dividers, filters, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, resistors, inductors, capacitors, relays, etc. Shall work with 11 0/220 Volts, properly size and design circuit and use grounding equipment.
* System, sub-system, and equipment racking, stacking, and testing. Planning/reading/red-lining rack layout and interconnection diagrams, and configuring, testing, and troubleshooting system/equipment. Computers and computer network operation. Operating test equipment such as function generators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, volt-ohm-ammeters, and bit-error rate test sets.
* RS-232 DTE/DCE terminology, asynchronous/synchronous communications, transceiver, modem, mux, VSAT, receiver, tuner, El, Ti, WAN, LAN, txd, rxd, rxc, txc, tt, dtr, rts, in, out, signal direction, basic data flow and a basic understanding of Serial Communications standards. Experience of and ability to troubleshoot RS-232, EA-530, RS-449 serial comms. Experience of data terminal equipment (DTE) and data communications equipment (DCE) interfaces and when straight thru or Null Modem cables are required. Experience in Balanced and Unbalanced communications.
