Geek: I don't think z...would be dangerous if he/she had a brain based on the nonsense attacks I'm seeing. He obviously ignores the numerous (ok, countless) postings by hoapres that are backed up with data. I like the simplicity of hoapres' K.I.S.S. mantra - it follows IBM's belief when they were a force to be reckoned with.

* * * *
I also don't care about the countless postings by anyone here. So what. If they need repeating until we all bounce out of IT, such is life. (Go get the jobs for 12/hour, z!) If they're really stupid rants, I have the ability to ignore them :) .

* * * *

z... if a respected and harmless Dice member is attacked, I will defend that person. If I think the person's an idiot, I won't. I understand you operate differently.

>>> You guys are pathetic...what stands out the most is justifying 4000+ comments and not even knowing who this person is...
what are you guys, lemmings???
****

Too funny z32000 The unemployed, without marketable skills, are here to provide their wisdom to everyone else. hoapres and bg both know all about IT, yet can't get jobs, not have skills. Most of us look at everything as glass half full, not doom and gloom.

The number of posts, 4000, 6000, whatever is just a personal contest between the unemployed to justify their time.

Why has the local CC not been able to place a single CS grad into an IT position for over 5 years? ( Selling pc's PT @ Best Buy, Staples, and Walmart doesn't count). The CC stopped teaching COBOL & RPG 11 years ago, and replaced them with the most up to date versions of Visual Basic, .NET, and SQL Server, so the "ancient excuse" is out the window! And, every CS grad within those 5 years had a CCNA. Only after several grads went on to finish a BSCS at Ohio State, did they find an IT position!

COME NOW....there you go again...what that? POST NUMBER 4,963???

GEEZ..WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF THIS??

Are you really trying to help other people out??? All this blabber is meaning less you have 0 credentials....

ANYONE CAN MAKE UP ANYTHING THEY WANT!!!
It's all about who is saying it that counts!!! Let's see, who is Hoapres and BG again???

They are nobodies!!! They failed in IT!!! I on the other hand are starting out and by no means have a do this or else attitude. Credentials matters the most to any argument. It's only natural to be curious instead of being some lemming...Probably the reason for end of your career in IT.

By pointing out that if you want a career in IT, you had better have alternative career choices at the ready in the event things don't go your way!

****

1) Meaningless is one word!
2) A credential is an attestation of qualification, competence, or authority issued to an individual by a third party with a relevant "de facto" authority or assumed competence to do so.
3) YOU still haven't listed YOUR "credentials"!

Look in the mirror to see the "nobody"! ;)

So you're an expert in IT even though you are just starting out???? My, do we have an attitude problem!

You know nothing about me .................. And if my IT career has ended, I have a back-up plan ........... My wife and I can retire at any time because we had the foresight to invest well, and ......... we're only in our mid-fifties .......... :-P

z30000 .. Don't get involved with conversations with hoapres or bg. They're both just pissed off at the world because the IT world has booted them out. Neither kept their skills sharp and now they are paying the penalty. There are plenty of good people and good information on this board. All you'll hear from these two is complete negativity as they are into just bashing everything and everyone. Don't waste your time with them.

I initially start conversing about 4 months back and both were posting 20-30 times a day and they are still at 20-30 a day. They should to invest their time into more productive tasks.

If you look back over bg's posts, he claimed to be struggling with bills a few months back, now, he's able to retire. He has ZERO credibility.

The only "bill" that I'm struggling with, is with area Congressmen who support the ludicrous ObamaCare bill!

Not really.

More pissed off seeing the U.S. going "down the tubes". Don't really have much of an idea of what to do about that "little problem"

>> Neither kept their skills sharp and now they are paying the penalty.

Well

My "crystal ball" has more than offset any "penalties" for not keeping skills sharp. (Assuming your conjecture is true)

>> They should to invest ....

Something doth tell me that you protest too much.

My investments are doing quite well right now thank you very much.

"he claimed to be struggling with bills a few months back"

Really? I must've missed that. Can you prove it?

"He has ZERO credibility"

If you can't prove it, you're the one with ZERO credibility AND could be easily a liar as I've never seen any post from BQ that said he was 'struggling with bills'

I think you are a liar

Agreed

Seriously

I think "you are way off base" on "a lot of things"

BUT

As I always say

YOU and ONLY YOU are RESPONSIBLE for gathering the information to determine the best course of action for YOUR particular circumstances.

Maybe I give people to much credit for basic intelligence but I don't (or seriously hope that I am right on the following) believe that ANYBODY takes the word of ANY ONE particular ANONYMOUS poster on a web bulletin board as the SOLE source of advice.

Clearly, EVERYONE (including myself) has an OPINION but (hard as it is for you to believe) I really don't care that much if people follow my advice or not. I am happy if people start "putting their thinking caps on" after reading other peoples responses to their questions. Once people do THEIR independent research by contacting OTHER sources of information then THEY can decide on their best courses of action.

Dude you got 6,286 messages.....what's up with that?
To say, you don't care what people think....ummmmmm....
let me repeat... you got 6,226 MESSAGES!!!!

If you're an analytical person....DON'T TELL ME THERE IS NO RELEVANCE!!!

It's only NATURAL to wonder what is this persons purpose and try to get some background on that person....

Those that say, it's NOT RELEVANT....JUST DON'T MAKE SENSE WHICH IS PROBABLY THE REASON WHY YOU FAILED IN AN ANALYTICAL FIELD SUCH AS IT.

Clearly, pointing the finger back at someone who has a NORMAL average amount of posts and telling them to mention their creditionals means YOU'RE AN IDIOT WHO DOES NOT SEE ANY RELEVANCE TO THE 6,286 POSTS!!!!

If I understand correctly, AFTER 6,286 POST...this guy HOAPRES has not ONCE MENTIONED HIS SCHOOLING BACKGROUND!!! THAT MEANS HE IS ASHAMED OF A FACT THAT HE HAS ZEROOOOOOOO SCHOOLING! THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM RIGHT THERE BUDDY!

You know yourself that SCHOOLING AND EXPERIENCE COUNTS (Not just experience in a competitive field!!!).... I HIGHLY BELIEVE YOU DON'T HAVE ANY ADEQUATE SCHOOLING!!! And now you're going to tell me that you know people with both and still can't get a job....THEN THE NEXT THING THEY ARE MISSING IS MOTIVATION!!! I highly doubt that someone who has completed a BS in Computer Science and has work experience has NO DRIVE!

So HOAPRES who has been avoiding the ultimate question!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE SACRIFICED EARLIER ON AND GOT SOME GOOD SCHOOLING. Your failure of not getting decent schooling earlier on in life was due to not seeing the BIG PICTURE! Now we have someone who has FAILED trying to convince others to abandon something that they FAILED to strategize as a CAREER instead of short term monetary gain.
Your problem was that you didn't think LONG TERM and you KNOW IT!

Would you per chance happen to be one of those "mini-godzillas" on the TV ads for The Ladders?
