Back to Europe?

Anybody here worked in Europe? I did (UK) for a few years and am thinking of heading back. Although the pay is lower and taxes are higher, it's a nicer standard of living overall, and in IT they didn't seem to be as crazy as in the US (age discrimination, offshoring etc). Although perhaps they just lag the US a few years in that! Luckily I have a nice telecommute job in the US that I can take with me, but I'm seriously thinking of another sojourn overseas....

oh well - just to close this thread - I've decided to stay put in the US. I have a nice "telecommute" gig with Stanford, although I'm thinking of moving out to the SF bay area anyway for a change of scenery (in Philly now; and 6 years in UK with winters there makes me think of trying a sunnier winter this year
